USA : The Women Divers Hall of Fame Scholarship and Grants

Job Description:
The Women Divers Hall of Fame ™ (WDHOF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to honoring and raising awareness of the contributions of outstanding women divers. WDHOF provides educational, mentorship, financial, and career opportunities to the diving community throughout the world. Each year, WDHOF awards scholarships and training grants that provide financial and educational support to individuals of all ages, particularly those who are preparing for professional careers that involve scuba diving. For 2011 awards, applications will be accepted for four scholarships and nine training grants. Applicants may apply for only ONE scholarship or ONE training grant.

The Four scholarships will be awarded in 2011. The scholarship will be paid directly to the recipient. The nine training grants will be awarded in 2011. The grant is presented in the form of a certificate, to be redeemed at the time the recipient enrolls in an approved diving course/program or purchases equipment, at which time the funds are submitted directly to the training facility or supplier of the equipment.

How to apply:

The online application program is under construction and will be available for online submission on the WDHOF website by October 1, 2010. All applicants will be required to complete the online application form, and submit a biography, an essay, and two letters of recommendation. Some of the scholarships/training grants will require additional information, so please read application instructions carefully when the website application opens.

The deadline for receipt of applications is November 26, 2010 at midnight U.S. Eastern Standard Time. Applicants will be notified of award status by January 14, 2011

Postgraduate, postdoctoral, visiting scholar and advanced research fellowships available to scientists from developing countries. Deadlines vary.

TWAS is now accepting applications for its postgraduate, postdoctoral, visiting scholars and advanced research fellowship programmes. The fellowships are offered to scientists from developing countries and are tenable at centres of excellence in various countries in the South, including Brazil, China, India, Malaysia, Mexico, Pakistan, Thailand and Kenya. Eligible fields include: agricultural and biological sciences, medical and health sciences, chemistry, engineering, astronomy, space and earth sciences, mathematics and physics.
